Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 medium ripe bananas, halved lengthwise
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted
  • Vanilla ice cream, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar until it dissolves and forms a smooth caramel. Add the banana halves and coat them gently in the mixture. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Unfold the thawed puff pastry and cut it into 4 equal rectangles. Place one banana half in the center of each rectangle.
  • Bring two opposite corners of the pastry over the banana and pinch tightly to seal. Transfer the pastries to the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puff pastry turns golden brown and flaky.
  • Drizzle the warm pastries with melted chocolate and serve immediately. For an extra touch, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven for best results.
