- 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium bananas)
- 1-3/4 cups quick-cooking oats
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease baking sheets or line them with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.
Add the softened butter to the dry ingredients and mix until the mixture has a crumbly texture.
Beat in the egg, mashed bananas, and oats. Stir until the ingredients are evenly incorporated into a soft dough.
Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts, ensuring they’re distributed evenly throughout the dough.
Scoop the dough by tablespoonfuls and drop onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 13 to 15 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown around the edges. Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
