Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the almonds, pecans, coconut flakes, flaxseed, and cinnamon. Toss until evenly mixed.
In a small bowl, mash the banana and mix it with the melted coconut oil and hot water.
Pour the banana mixture over the nuts and stir well to coat everything evenly.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking sheet and press it down firmly into a large, compact rectangle to encourage clusters.
Bake for 15 minutes. Rotate the pan and bake for another 15 minutes until the edges are golden-brown and fragrant.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the granola while it’s still slightly warm but not hot.
Once completely cooled, break the granola into large clusters. Enjoy immediately or store for later.
