Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 envelopes taco seasoning, divided
  • 2 cups fat-free sour cream
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened 1 package
  • 2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 can sliced ripe olives, drained 2-1/4 ounces

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook and crumble the ground beef over medium heat until browned and no longer pink, about 4-6 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the water and 1 envelope of taco seasoning to the beef. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently until the mixture thickens. Let it cool slightly.
  • In a medium bowl, beat together the sour cream, softened cream cheese, and remaining taco seasoning until smooth and well blended.
  • Spread the sour cream mixture evenly in the base of a 3-quart dish.
  • Layer the cooked beef mixture over the spread, followed by shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, green peppers, and sliced olives.

Notes

For best results, chill the assembled dip for 30 minutes before serving to enhance the flavors. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
