Ingredients

  • 4 1/4 cups filtered water, divided
  • 3/4 cup honey, maple syrup, agave nectar, or liquid allulose (for keto)
  • 2/3 cup fresh lime juice (from about 6 limes)
  • 1/8 teaspoon sea salt (or Potassium Lite Salt or an electrolyte mix for extra benefits)
  • Ice, for serving
  • Lime slices and fresh mint, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of filtered water, your choice of natural sweetener, and the sea salt over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sweetener and salt are fully dissolved. Avoid letting the water come to a simmer.
  • Remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to cool slightly. This is your simple syrup.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the simple syrup, the remaining 3 1/4 cups of filtered water, and fresh-squeezed lime juice. Stir well to mix everything evenly. Taste the limeade and adjust the sweetness or acidity by adding more sweetener, water, or lime juice to your preference.
  • Pour the limeade over ice in serving glasses. Garnish with slices of lime and fresh mint, if desired, for an added burst of flavor and visual appeal.
