Equipment

  • Measuring cup
  • Small bowl
  • Whisk

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons hot water
  • 1 cup warm water
  • Ice
  • Milk of choice (we use almond milk)

Instructions

  • Measure the matcha: In a measuring cup or small bowl, add the matcha powder.
  • Make a paste: Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of hot water and whisk thoroughly until the matcha is smooth and lump-free. It should have a paste-like consistency.
  • Mix with water: Gradually pour in the 1 cup of warm water, whisking continuously until the matcha is fully dissolved.
  • Chill: Place your matcha mixture in the refrigerator or freezer for about 15 minutes to cool.
  • Prepare glasses: Fill two glasses with ice and pour your milk of choice into each, filling about 3/4 of the way.
  • Add matcha: Pour the chilled matcha into the glasses, over the milk and ice. Stir gently to combine.
  • Sweeten (optional): Add simple syrup, honey, or your sweetener of choice, if desired. Stir and enjoy!

Notes

For a keto version, use unsweetened almond or coconut milk. Adjust sweetness to taste and consider sifting matcha for a smoother finish.
