Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (preferably unsalted, creamy type)
  • 1/2 cup honey (or maple syrup for vegan)
  • 4 cups plain Cheerios

Instructions

  • Prepare your dish: Line an 8x8 or 9x9 square baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easy.
  • Melt the mixture: Combine the peanut butter and honey in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat them in the microwave for 30 seconds, then stir until smooth and fully combined. You can also melt them on the stovetop over low heat if you prefer.
  • Mix in the Cheerios: Pour the Cheerios into the melted peanut butter and honey mixture. Stir gently until all the cereal pieces are evenly coated.
  • Shape the bars: Transfer the mixture into your prepared dish, spreading it out evenly and pressing down with a spatula to compact the bars.
  • Chill to set: Place the dish in the refrigerator for about 1 hour, or until the bars are firm and set.
  • Slice and enjoy: Once the bars have hardened, lift them out of the dish using the parchment paper and slice into 9 even squares. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
