Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 jar (28 ounces) spaghetti sauce
  • 1 package (25 ounces) frozen sausage or cheese ravioli
  • 1-1/2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a 2-1/2-quart baking dish and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook and crumble the ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • Spoon a third of the spaghetti sauce into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
  • Layer half of the frozen ravioli over the sauce, followed by half of the cooked beef. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Repeat the layers: sauce, ravioli, beef, and 1/2 cup of cheese.
  • Top with the remaining spaghetti sauce and the last 1/2 cup of cheese. Cover the dish with foil.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the dish is heated through and bubbling. For a golden, bubbly topping, remove the foil during the last 10 minutes of baking.
  • If desired, sprinkle with freshly chopped basil before serving. Serve warm and enjoy!
