This red lentil hummus is a creamy, nutritious dip that's perfect for snacking or entertaining. With a delightful blend of spices and plant-based ingredients, this easy red lentil hummus recipe offers a healthy alternative to traditional dips.
Bring a medium pot of water to a boil and add the lentils.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for about 15 minutes, or until the lentils are tender.
Drain the lentils and let them cool for 10 to 15 minutes.
Transfer the lentils to a blender along with tahini, lemon juice, coconut oil, garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, turmeric, cardamom, onion powder, cayenne, salt, and several grinds of black pepper.
Blend until smooth and creamy. If the mixture feels too thick, add water one tablespoon at a time until you achieve your desired consistency.
Taste the hummus and adjust seasonings as needed.
Transfer to a container and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Serve with naan or fresh-cut vegetables and enjoy!
