Cuisine American
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped (Honeycrisp or Fuji work great)
- 1 small yellow onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder, or 2 fresh cloves
- 1 teaspoon salt, to taste
- ½ teaspoon black pepper, to taste
- 1 ½ cups BBQ sauce, homemade or store-bought
- 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
Add the chopped apples, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper on top.
Pour the BBQ sauce and apple cider vinegar over everything.
Give the mixture a quick stir to coat the chicken evenly.
Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks, ensuring every piece is coated in the sauce.
Let the chicken sit in the slow cooker for 10–15 minutes to absorb more flavor.
