These paleo banana muffins are a delicious treat that combines natural sweetness with nutrient-packed ingredients. They're gluten-free, dairy-free, and loaded with protein, making it an ideal healthy banana muffins recipe for breakfast or snacks.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup mashed banana (about 2 large or 3 small bananas)
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1.5 cups almond flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease each section lightly with oil.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the mashed banana, almond butter, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  • In a smaller bowl, stir together the almond flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined.
  • Gently mix in the chocolate chips, reserving a few to sprinkle on top if desired.
  • Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each well about three-quarters full. Top with extra chocolate chips if using.
  • Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Look for a golden color on top.
  • Let the muffins cool in the tin for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Optional: Replace almond butter with sunflower seed butter for nut-free option.
